Limitations
In this category, you can look through the limitations you may face on the platform.
iOS
No virtual keyboard is available when entering a password on iOS devices.
You will face this on Apple devices where the iOS version is 13.3 and further. It is caused by security checks inside iOS. We recommend using a real keyboard on your PC instead.
The Password field is empty regardless I am typing a password in the field on iOS devices.
Yes, it’s possible because of security checks. Just type a password in the Password field and confirm it to continue.
Double-click on the Home button does not open App Switcher.
Double-click on the Home button is inactive on iOS 10.3 or later versions. There are three ways to open App Switcher:
1) Swipe up from the bottom to the middle of the screen.
2) Use AssistiveTouch (Click on the AssistiveTouch icon → Click twice on the Home button there).
3) Use AssistiveTouch (Click on the AssistiveTouch icon → Choose Device → More → Multitasking).
I cannot turn off Wi-Fi on some iOS devices.
Starting from iOS 13, the option to turn off wi-fi is disabled. As a workaround, when you need to test turning off wi-fi, you can go to Settings -> Developer -> Network Link Conditioner -> Turn on the “Enable” toggle -> Choose the “100% Loss” option. Please, when your test is completed, turn off the toggle.
An internal error appears when I try to add cookies in Safari WebKit.
The majority of features in Safari WebKit work in the Safari browser only. You may see the error because you are using another browser.
Android
The Root folder is empty in the File storage tab
The Root folder may be empty for some devices (mainly, on Android 7.1.1) as per technical limitations. You can enter the system folders if you specify them in the following way: /path. For example, /sdcard.
Nothing happens when I try to attach a file from the device files to the application
To attach/import a file/image/etc. to an application, open the folder with the file → click on the file → press Enter twice on your PC keyboard.
The screen becomes black on some pages/when I try to select a payment card.
The black screen appears on Android 12 and higher. It is a security limitation for screens that forbid screen recording or screenshot taking. You can use one of the workarounds:
– re-build the test application without a flag forbidding screenshots and recordings on a screen that becomes black
– check that the feature opens in a browser if possible. For example, if you need to select a card, a web page should open, not the Google application.
iOS and Android
Can I make phone calls or send SMS from the devices?
No, you can’t. The Mobitru devices do not have SIM cards.
Can I use the device camera?
No, you can’t. The cameras are unavailable for security reasons. In case you need a camera, contact support@mobitru.com.
What if I need to install any application from the Play Market/Apple Store?
Android: You can access Google Play on devices.
iOS: You can log in to Apple Store with your Apple Id account.
Also, to install an application, you can use the Install App feature or share a file via an app distribution service.
